Moving Day

Things have been busy around here. Kim and Ryan left for Wyoming on Tuesday so Shane and I went over there early in the morning to help them load up their stuff. I took a few pictures but Kim insisted I didn't take any of her because she was in her pajamas haha. No one really cried during the final goodbyes. I don't think I really believed they were leaving! Sorry the pictures are a little blurry.

Weekend in Sedona

We had a great time!

Playing catch up

I keep updating my blog's background but I've been told that that doesn't count, so here's a real update. ;) Let's see, it's only been three months since my last post so give me a minute while I think about all the things that have transpired since then...

My sister and I spent almost 2 weeks in Snoqualmie, Washington towards the end of May. Unfortunately, Shane had to work. He was missed, and definitely missed out. :( We shopped at some really fun and unique stores (my aunt has amazing taste), stuffed ourselves with good food, enjoyed the beautiful scenery and spent a lot of quality time with those family members we don't get to see very often. It was really hard to leave. Shane and I are already planning for another trip. It won't be for a while, of course, but it's always worth it when we get to go to Washington!

I've also been on a painting kick. The master bedroom, guest bathroom and the formal living/dining room now have color on the walls and it's amazing the difference it makes. It's really starting to feel like home! Eventually, the color that's in the living room/dining room will extend throughout the entire house (the kitchen, family room and hallway at least) but eh, I've worn myself out for a while. Besides, it's Shane's turn and he wants to start working on the backyard. I guess that's only fair. ;) By the way, we've officially been in our house for a year! I read some of my older posts and think it's funny that I worried so much about whether or not we'd get into a house. Things always work out. And even if we didn't buy a house, even if we ended up having to live in an apartment for several years--there's nothing wrong with that!! There are some days I really do miss our apartment, believe it or not....

Anyway, seeing as it's been a year since we purchased our house, that means it's been two years since we were married! Crazy!! Next Tuesday, September 15th, is the exact date. Some days it feels like we've been together forever and other days it feels like we walked out of the temple doors just yesterday! To celebrate we'll be staying at the Wyndham Resort in Sedona. I was really surprised when Shane told me because we honestly hadn't planned on doing much! I'm so excited!

That's pretty much it for now. I'll try really hard to write again next week when we have some pictures of Sedona. Life is good!

Hi, my name's Lindsey. How are you?

I am a total FAILURE at keeping this thing updated. It's not like I don't have the time! We've done a lot since my last update. Went to the Easter Pageant & Nielson's with Spencer and Brye, bought a tent and vowed to go camping sometime soon (anyone want to come with?), had a BBQ with family, hung out with several of our amazing wonderful friends...you know, just living life. Sometimes I feel like the days keep going by faster and faster. In just a few more weeks I'll be 21, even though I still feel (and look) 16. Time flies when you're having fun, and we're definitely having fun!

I'm excited for the rest of the month. Shane's grandpa's 80th birthday is coming up and we're making the trip to Safford to be a part of the celebration. It'll be nice because we haven't been down there since we were engaged, not to mention the fact that I love being with family and being a part of a group! Then, on the 28th, my little sister and I will be flying to Washington for 10 days of fun with my mom's family. It's been two years since I've been to Washington, and I'm so excited. The only downside is that Shane's not coming with. It's been over a year since I've spent the night without him but I think I can handle it!

Anyway, that's about it! I still haven't found work but I've been educating myself in the art of cleaning house in the meantime.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Also, happy birthday to my wonderful grandma! Today we had planned to go out for breakfast but needless to say, we didn't wake up at a decent hour... So we settled for tuna fish sandwiches and Diet Sprite instead. We called my grandma to wish her a happy birthday and then Shane left for work. Man, the morning goes by fast when you sleep in! Tonight I'm going to try a new recipe (risky, I know) and then we'll probably watch one of our favorite movies or something. Hope everyone else had a great day!

2008

I'm kinda sad that 2008 is over. We accomplished a lot as a family, and made some very important decisions. It's funny how much time I spent worrying about life and stuff, but when I look back on last year, I see that things worked out...maybe not the way I thought they would, but I'm definitely happy and very blessed! So here are just a few things we did in 2008. We...

Survived COTA.

Shane's glad those two months are done and over with fo sho.

Celebrated our 1st anniversary!

We made it! Living with a man is tough. I lost count of how many times I fell in the toilet on account of the seat being left up...

Bought our first home.

Haha, just kidding. That's actually Tom Cruise's house. Ours is just a tiny bit smaller, but just as awesome.

Biggest vice of 2008.

Yeah, I listened to this CD just about every day.

So, what do I have to look forward to in 2009?

Federal tax credit.

Call me shallow, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to it.

Going domestic.

When Poppy's closes, I will have no excuse not to clean my house or have dinner ready. Hopefully I can find another job quick, or I may have to find myself a ridiculous yellow apron like hers.

Back to school.

I should've never dropped out. Idiot!

Also, this year I've made it a goal to take family pictures and actually send out a Christmas card...I know it's a long time away now, but I was really disappointed that I wasn't on the ball enough to get it done this year. Why must I be such a slacker?

Thursday, January 22, 2009

The past few months I haven't been very motivated to write in my blog. Some days it feels like I have nothing to say; other days there's so much and I feel too impatient to take the time to write about it. At least I've been good about keeping my personal diary up to date and that's all that really matters. ;)

Anyway, I don't feel like backtracking but I will say that we had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend the day with both sides of the family. Shane got me Britney Spears' fabulous new CD (which I knew about, because I peeked- shhh, don't tell!!!) and I'm having a total brain fart right now and can't remember what I got him, but I'm sure it was amazing.

I'm actually glad that we didn't spend too much on Christmas this year because the day after, we found out that the store I'm working for would be closing. Sad day. I really did cry, because I've had this job practically since I graduated high school, and have gotten to know everyone so well and I really do consider them my best friends. I guess that's what happens when you work 8 hours a day, 4 or 5 days a week with someone for 2 years straight. I will really, really miss them and hope we stay in touch.

So lately my day has gone as such: go to work, come home, apply for jobs, then Shane comes home and he looks up jobs for me on one computer while I look for more on the other. Needless to say, this routine does not give me a whole lot to write about but I promise that I'll post pictures of the house soon for those of you who still read this, like Nan and Melissa :)
